Despite shockingly losing her last round game to Priyanka K, IM Padmini Rout managed to finish first in the Ramratna 42nd Indian National Women Premier Chess Championship 2015. Padmini amassed a total of 8.5 points over the course of 11 rounds, winning as many as 8 games on her way to this coveted title.
Meanwhile, a three-way tie was witnessed for the second place with WGMs Soumya Swaminathan, Bhakti Kulkarni and Swati Ghate notching up a total of 7.5 points each. However, on account of their better tie-break scores, Soumya and Bhakti finished ahead of Swati Ghate, securing the second and third spots respectively.
